Troy Firemen's Auxiliary donated new air bags at a cost of $3967.00

Members of the station one Ladies Auxiliary donated 7 rescue air bags to Chief Roy Vargson and department 16 at their meeting held on September 12 , 2006.
A lot of spaghetti dinner fund raisers have resulted in some valuable equipment for the department.
The ladies auxiliary, which held the dinners, used the proceeds from the fund raisers to purchase some rescue air bags for the department
The fund raising took about a year. The recuse air bags can mean life or death in emergency situations. Chief Vargson said the bags, which firemen inflate, can be used to lift heavy objects, such as a car or a piece of farm equipment or even a concrete slab, off a person trapped within or beneath.
Chief Vargson commended the Ladies Auxiliary for the seven air bags, which come in varying sizes. The Auxiliary raised $3,967 to buy the bags for the fire department.
“They’re great”, Vargson said of the organization. “They support us and we appreciate it very much”. He sais the bags will be “very useful”.
The equipment can be used to raise from 1.2 tons to 29.9 tons.
